As part of its efforts to combat violent extremism, Pakistan made a clear reference to Palestine and Kashmir when it called for the resolution of situational conflicts that have been going on for decades and for the aim of an end to foreign occupation.
Muhammad Jawad Ajmal, the Pakistani delegate to the United Nations, made this statement during his speech at a ceremony that was held on the occasion of the International Preventing Extremism and Violence. The ceremony was organized by the Iraqi mission to the United Nations.
Having stated that political and economic injustice has resulted in polarization and fueled hostilities, he highlighted the importance of the international community making a commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and combating hate speech.
Muhammad Ajmal reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm opposition to terrorism and extremism in any and all of their manifestations and forms, regardless of where they are located in the world.
